What stitch braids are
STICH BRAIDS STYLE - to 10 straight to the back without any design delivers ten uniform stitch-style braids that run straight from the hairline to the nape. The service is intentionally simple: no decorative patterns, parts, or shapes. Clients should expect a clean, consistent look focused on straight back placement rather than ornamental styling.
The final shape and tightness depend on your natural hair density and how well hair arrives prepared. Because the style is straightforward, even tension across each braid is important for a balanced appearance and comfortable wear; proper detangling and blow-drying before arrival helps the braider achieve that consistency.
The appointment and preparation
This service is offered at a flat price of $140 and a booked duration of 150 minutes. To deliver the best result in that time we require hair to be clean, blow-dried, product-free, and fully detangled before arrival. Additional detangling done at the salon may add time and can require an extra service fee.
Please arrive on time: a 15-minute grace period is provided and appointments cannot be held beyond that window. Braiding hair is included with the service for consistency. Remaining balance is due at the appointment and accepted by cash, Zelle, or Cash App. No extra guests are allowed to maintain a calm, professional environment.
Aftercare and local considerations
Aftercare focuses on keeping braids neat and protecting the scalp. Chicago’s seasonal climate—hot, humid summers and cold winters—can affect frizz and scalp comfort, so lightweight scarves or satin wraps at night help preserve the style. Avoid heavy, oily products that can cause build-up; the service assumes hair arrives product-free to maximize longevity.
Clients in Marquette Park and nearby Southwest Side neighborhoods often plan appointments around work, school, and family routines. Allow the booked 150 minutes in your schedule for the full service, and remember color customizations (highlights or multi-color blends) are available but may add complexity and possible extra charges.
